Director of Safety
William Leonard brings more than 25 years of expertise in the safety industry. Mr. Leonard served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, where from an early point in his career he was tasked with ensuring the safety of those around him.
Mr. Leonard has worked with a number of major regional construction companies providing safety management on civil and complex electrical projects for key clients and agencies in the Northeast region of the United States. Prior to joining the Haugland Group, Mr. Leonard worked as a Safety Manager at Hawkeye, providing field oversight and safety supervisors, ensuring OSHA compliance, record keeping, injury and incident reporting, initial case management, incident investigations, certifying safety related pre-qualification requirements, administering employee training programs and record keeping of ongoing safety training and certifications. He maintains membership to a number of the industry’s professional organizations, and is certified in all aspects related to construction industry safety. Mr. Leonard also participates in several IBEW affiliated safety committees.
