Haugland Group LLC (HG) announced today that it has acquired the assets of Eastern Utilities Contracting Corporation (EUC), a Long Island, New York based pipeline and utility construction company. Along with this acquisition, HG has established a new division, Eastern Utilities Services LLC (EUS). Eastern Utilities Contracting Corporation owners, Jonathan Schumchyk and Thomas Schumchyk, will join the HG team as Vice Presidents of the newly formed EUS division.

This acquisition strengthens HG’s position as a regional leader in the heavy civil and utilities construction industries. Established in 2001, EUC specializes in directional drilling and trenchless technology pneumatic boring, and worked with municipal, commercial and residential customers in areas of Long Island, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. EUC’s highly specialized equipment and technologies will allow HG’s divisions to better serve its existing customer base, while expanding its portfolio.

“I am confident that Eastern Utilities Contracting will prove to be a great asset to Haugland Group as we continue to find new ways to grow our organization and synergize the functions within its divisions,” said Haugland Group Co-President, William Haugland, Jr. “The industry-leading technology and experience that Eastern brings over further advances Haugland Group’s mission to be an innovative leader in the civil and energy infrastructure industries. I am thrilled to welcome them to our family of businesses.”
